SOS has a front row seat in seeing God raise up sons and daughters, teaching them they are made for his glory and transforming the hearts of His people. We were blessed to hear personal stories of God’s saving power. Tameka, a participant in our Women’s Ministry, shared: “I didn’t have people in my life to support me, to show me what my purpose was in life. I lived a gay lifestyle for about 7 years. My kids used to go to SOS. I didn’t know that my daughter used to pray for me. She would go to SOS and pray for me and ask for me to be changed, and Jesus saved me. If you seek Him, I promise you that He will not turn you away. For a woman that is battling some of the things that I have battled in my past, whether it’s from abuse, from feeling disowned or not a part of someone or part of a family, or struggling even with self-identity, trust in the Lord with all your heart.”

Susie shared her experience of being changed and transformed by Jesus: “My kids started going to SOS and everything just changed. Forgiveness was the key to everything. When I was able to forgive my uncle for molesting me, forgive the man that raped me, forgive myself for being so angry that it was implanted into my kids. Once I forgave, I no longer was filled with hatred. Being able to forgive someone for hurting you and then being able to pray for their salvation above anything else just lets you know that God is so real. He heals you. He can bring life to everything you thought was dead in you.”
