|Over 20 years ago, as JJ Ramirez was praying in the back of his house, the Lord came to him and gave him a vision for Save Our Streets Ministries:a 24/7 transformation center. This was not a man-sized vision, but a God-sized vision, and JJ knew it was something that he could not do on his own.Sixteen years after God gave JJ the vision, with clear direction from God partnered with faith from people in the community, SOS Ministries built the first building on our 20 acres. We are excited to announce that the Lord has given us direction to begin building another part of the vision: the Ted Wyatt Residential Discipleship Home, the storage and training facility, and classroom expansion.||
A majority of the people we serve are raised in an environment where a father, or father-figure, is not present. This leaves a void with no one to teach or model what a God-fearing, responsible man looks like and acts like.
At SOS Ministries, we are looking to relocate and grow our current Men’s Discipleship and Work Program. In the pictures below, you can see the layout of a 3,400 sq ft living facility with the capacity to hold up to 12 men. On the side is an apartment for a house parent to stay and watch the residents. Residents of the men’s home will sign a 9 month to 1 year commitment to live at the Ted Wyatt Residential Discipleship Home, abide by all house rules, and work with the SOS Lawn Service Crew. The men in our program are not only given a place to stay, but they are discipled and taught how to study the Word of God, to work hard, and to manage finances. Most importantly, they are introduced to Jesus and shown how to be a Godly man, husband, and father.
