During this unforeseen season, our SOS team has continued praying for you and your family to be blessed and protected by our Heavenly Father. Amidst recent changes in our world, we want to encourage you that King Jesus, our good and faithful Savior, still sits on the throne and remains in full control of every detail. In uncertain times, we can remain certain that Our God orchestrates all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28).To respect our community leaders and follow the ordinances put into place to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, we are canceling our annual S.O.S. April Awareness Month activities, including the Sweet for the Soul Pastor Cookoff.
While following social distancing and Shelter-In Place initiatives, we are prayerfully seeking God’s wisdom and creativity in discovering new ways to carry out our mission to “Rescue, Restore, and Release those we serve from a drug and gang infested environment where abuse, poverty, and violence are a way of life”. Rest assured that our team is working diligently to identify and minister to those who are hurting in our community. Each week, we have committed to delivering 5 nutritious meals to the homes of 100 children involved in our after-school program, totaling 500 meals delivered weekly. We are also helping families in need of financial assistance to pay for food, utilities, and rent. Additionally, our ministry leaders are continuing to build relationships and invest in the lives of hundreds we are blessed to serve.
Our ministry would not be possible without the faithful prayers and support of our donors, especially in times of hardship. Since our Awareness Month events have been canceled, we ask that you would prayerfully consider contributing your previous years’ Awareness Month event sponsorship and BBQ/Sweet for the Soul ticket purchase amounts as a donation to our ministry’s current areas of greatest need. Our goal is to raise $20,000 through past sponsors and event participants to further our ministry at work in the Brazos Valley. Help us bring hope to the hopeless and impact the lives of our neighbors who currently are struggling to find basic needs. You can donate to S.O.S. Ministries by:
