SOS 22nd Annual Banquet “REVIVAL” was a Success!
Celebrating 30 years of ministry in the Brazos Valley
This year’s banquet, “REVIVAL”, was an evening to remember! We celebrated 30 years of ministry and had the privilege of serving over 550 people from diverse cultural, denominational, and socio-economic backgrounds. It was an amazing time of reflection and celebration of how God is sparking revival throughout our community. It is the DNA of SOS to “Rescue, Restore, and Release” those we serve and work passionately to further God’s transforming revival in the lives of men, women, and children across the Brazos Valley.
We are so thankful to God and this community that helped us raise over $170,000 at Banquet this year!
SOS has a front row seat in seeing God’s revival and transformation in the hearts of people, young and old alike. We were blessed to hear personal stories of God’s saving power. Tony, our Men’s Home resident, shared:
“At 13, I began using drugs and getting involved with gangs. I didn’t have a relationship with Jesus. Things soon got worse, and I even lost some loved ones to drugs and alcohol. I was so sick and tired of my lifestyle. Through staying at the SOS Men’s Home, Jesus brought my struggles to the surface, healed me, and helped me grow. I am grateful to have JJ as my spiritual father and the brotherhood at the SOS Men’s Home.”
Mary, a member of our Women’s Ministry, shared her experience of God breaking generational curses in families: “I was coming out of a divorce and in desperate need for God’s guidance and healing over my kids and struggles. Carmen invited me to the SOS Women’s Bible Study. The women there prayed over me and showed me what sisterhood in Christ looks like. Through the years, God has brought my family out of so many things. I have witnessed Him move in the hearts of my kids and grandkids for His glory, and all I can say is WOW!”
Founder and Director, JJ Ramirez, encouraged the audience:
“God has provided 30 years of ministry well beyond my imagination. We have seen people come out of poverty, off drugs and alcohol, you name it. We’ve seen God perform miracles and He is still in the miracle business. Over the next 30 years, we will see even greater REVIVAL in our community if we continue committing ourselves to His Kingdom work.”

The Mission of SOS Ministries
In 1993, God gave our founder, J.J. Ramirez, ex-drug dealer and addict, a vision of SOS Ministries and what God could accomplish through this ministry; how it could be a place of hope to Rescue, Restore, and Release those who are surrounded by drugs, abuse, and violence. Since then, with your faithful partnership, we have seen God transform thousands of lives through our discipleship classes, vocational training, life skill education, and neighborhood outreaches tailored to reach the whole family, from child to grandparent.
Each year, we invest in the daily lives of over 600 children, teens, women, and men in the Brazos Valley. Our ministry staff has experienced many of the struggles of those we serve and are provided unique, unbound opportunities to show the love of Jesus in culturally relevant ways, meeting them where they are.
A big THANK YOU to our Title Sponsors Galleria Spa • Salon • Boutique and KBTX Media for their continued support of SOS Ministries.
